Sparsh Programme at Kolkata

"SPARSH"HELD ON 29TH MARCH 2006 AT GYAN MANCH PRETORIA STREET KOLKATA TO HONOUR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED YOUNG TALENTED ARTIST AND WITH THE CHILDREN BELOW POVERTY LINE COMING FROM DIFFERENT LEVEL OF OUR SOCIETY.


Divyajyoti Cultural Organization and Social Welfare Society (DCOSWS) a Registered Unit under Society Act. of their Kolkata Chapter headed by Smt. Priti Sengupta Regional Director and her team organized a Cultural Evening named "SPARSH"with an objective to promote Indian art and culture and to honor the Physically challenged talented young Artist and with the children below poverty line coming from different level of our Society. The program was held on 29th March 2006 at 6.00 pm at Gyan Manch 11, Pretoria Street Kolkata 700 017.


Sri Robin Deb MLA The Chief Govt. Whip of West Bengal was our Chief Guest and Mr. T.C. Dutt IAS the former Chief Secy. Govt. of West Bengal, Sri Santosh Bose Principal of Indian Institute of Software Technology, Smt. Priti Patel The Eminent Manipuri Dancer and founder of Aanjika (The Institute of Manipuri Dance and Movement Therapy), Smt. Paushali Mukherjee Eminent Dancer of Odissi, Smt. (Dr.) Mamta Neogi Eminent Dancer and founder of KALABHARTI, Montreal, CANADA, Sri Jagannath Basu, Director (MKTG.) Doordarsan Kendra and his wife Smt. Urmimala Basu the Eminent Artist and was our Guest of Honor extending their whole hearted support and patronage to make this program a grand success. The live performance of the little and Tiny Artist of Emanuel Ministries - Samaritans Society Kolkata, The Children of Young Men's Welfare Society headed by Sri Sourav Mukherjee, Sri Jagannath Basu and Smt. Urmimala Basu and various others, supported the program.

The above program started with the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Guest of honor, To all Stage performer and the worker who has extended their full support and active participation in this program.

The main objective of this program was basically meant for the children who are deprived by the society and away from Indian Art and Culture. DCOSWS - Kolkata Chapter brought them into existence and pay heartfelt respect to them.

The above Cultural evening followed by Inaugural Dance (Saraswati Vandana by the student of Smt. Poushali Mukherjee) , Dance / Drama ( by the students of Aanjika and Emanuel Ministries - Kolkata), Sruti Natak ( by Sri Jagannath Basu and his wife), Rabindra Sangeet ( by one of the worker of DCOSWS - Kolkata Chapter in the gap period), and colorful and splendid live performance by the students of Young Men's Welfare Society.

Apart from providing scope for budding artists to promote Indian art and culture, DCOSWS - Kolkata Chapter is actively working around the rural and urban sector to find out such talented scope from every corner of the state for the welfare, uplift and rehabilitation of the physically challenged children and below poverty line children and helping them to lead a life of dignity and self esteem. Our Organization can also take up the mission of empowering under privileged children from rural areas so that they can also contribute actively to the mainstream of the society and can also be a tool for the development of our great Country.

The program ended with an oath to build a better tomorrow and new world for them who will build our Country's future.
